Border violators, foreigners with drugs and illegal export of amber: the situation at the border in a day

Ukrainian border guards continue to effectively counteract illegal migration, smuggling of weapons, drugs, illegal movement of goods across the border.

So, the other day, the border guards of the Podolsk detachment detained 5 violators with the help of an optical-electronic surveillance system.

For detailed control over a group of people, a drone of border guards rose into the sky and at the same time an outfit was intercepted. Under the control of the drone operator, state border guards quickly found the violators and detained them at the state border, near the village of Novokrasne, Razdelnyansky district.

Violators were men of conscription age from Khmelnytskyi, Odessa region and Zaporizhzhia.

For the detained persons, the border guards of the Podolsk detachment drew up protocols on administrative offenses provided for in Part 2 of Article 204-1 “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine”. Case materials are sent to court.

But at the Starokozache checkpoint, border guards together with SBU officers exposed two foreigners who tried to transport more than 1.2 kilograms of drugs across the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.

Two Moldovan citizens returned home from Ukraine by car “Nissan”. During the inspection of the vehicle, under the front passenger seat, border guards found two plastic bags with a white substance.

According to the results of the express test, it was found that this is a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance alpha-PVP.

At the moment, two defendants in the case have been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 305 of the Criminal Code “Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit medicines”.

And in Volyn, border guards exposed a group that specialized in the illegal extraction, processing, sale abroad of amber stones.

The events were held under the procedural guidance of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 240-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning citizens engaged in illegal extraction, processing and sale, including abroad, of “solar” stones.

As a result of the measures taken, an illegal workshop was found in the Kovel district, where there were machines with which amber was processed, and a significant amount of raw materials.

In total, more than 120 kilograms of treated and untreated amber stones, finished products from it, rough records and other physical evidence were found and recovered.

The seized property is sent for examination, according to the results of which an appropriate legal decision will be made.

Thus, on January 25, 53 thousand people and 15 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region).

28 thousand people left Ukraine last day. 17 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova. Over the past day, 23 thousand people followed Ukraine, 22 thousand of them are citizens of Ukraine.

97 trucks with humanitarian aid were registered.
