This was emphasized by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine during a meeting with people's deputies on the regularization of the statuses of combatants, in particular for employees of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary of State thanked the people's elected representatives from the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada on Legal Status, Social Support and Medical Support of Servicemen for the initiative and noted that the issue of rehabilitation of defenders and defenders is very important and requires constant work:

“We constantly monitor the work of medical rehabilitation centers in Ukraine with our partners. We are well aware that we must provide such high quality services in order to restore the activity of the fighters even after injury. I would like to point out that our foreign partners are helping Ukraine. For example, soon it is planned to organize an exchange of doctors in order to master new experience.”

The State Secretary stressed that the Ministry constantly monitors the quality of service provision in medical institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, the latest techniques are being implemented, in accordance with the standards of the countries of the European Union.

In turn, the Director of the Department of Pensions and Social Protection Tetiana Andriichuk informed the MPs that the Ministry operates its own commission on the consideration of materials on granting or depriving UBD status for employees of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There are also departmental commissions at the Central District of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which consider the controversial issues of granting the status of UBD.

Tetiana Andriichuk noted that the Ministry is currently working on several draft laws introduced by the People's Deputies of Ukraine, in particular on simplifying the mechanism of granting the status of a participant in hostilities by reducing the list of necessary documents or automatically granting such status.

In addition, the Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports Oleksandr Tarasenko told MPs that his unit helps servicemen and their families with education in universities under the Ministry of Internal Affairs system:

“The Department of Education, Science and Sports takes all important steps to support our defenders and defenders. This includes admission to universities under special conditions for servicemen and their children. It is also about training and retraining for persons with disabilities in the driving schools of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The department is constantly studying the needs for educational institutions and is considering the possibility of opening new ones.”

At the end of the meeting, the parties thanked each other for fruitful cooperation and agreed on further coordination of efforts in the issue of streamlining the statuses of combatants.
