The guard with the nickname “Mosquito” is studying at the Academy of the National Guard at the Faculty of Humanities. The guy - from the Luhansk region, lived most of his life in Kiev. He has two decorations - the badge “For Valorous Service” and “For Excellence in Military Service” of the 3rd degree.

Twice in his life, Komar tried to enter the military path. However, it did not work out. So far this year he has not entered military service.

“I got into the military unit of the NGU, in the Chernihiv region. In January, he took the oath, and already in February he “met” the war,” says “Mosquito”.

On February 24, 2022, the guy met in bed. Changed from his outfit and went to bed. However, he was raised for alarm.

“My first thoughts were, “Well, why today?” When the Russian troops entered Chernihiv itself, they were seen already on the streets of the city, the first battles began. It turned out that one crew of our BTR-70 was left without a mechanic driver. They were looking for someone who would be him. I, without thinking long, agreed,” recalls the guard.

He says the first fights were street battles. Over time, Russian troops came in more serious and prepared.

“It turned out that we were all driven to the Regional State Administration, we got caught in the ring. We began to communicate with our more experienced fighters, asked them what percentage of what we would survive at all. Everyone said that the chance was minimal,” says the fighter of the NGU.

Then everyone called their family to say goodbye. Each announced that it would be his last fight. But in this battle, the boys survived. Despite everything, the guard assures, the worst thing is the death of civilians.

“It was hard to see civilians being killed. You take a 23-year-old girl who is seriously injured, she has a child in her arms... Over time, the girl died, and the boy was left without a mother. There were grandfathers and grandmothers who were shot by a car, they themselves still somehow tried to leave. Grandfather's legs were like a sieve, we provided them with first aid. My grandmother died in my arms,” says “Mosquito”.

That guy is sure that returning from hell you can return a person to a normal life. Therefore, he aspires to become a psychologist.

“If a supportive psychologist works with you on the line of fire, it is much easier to endure and survive all the difficulties. I want to become a psychologist — it's a big responsibility and I'm not afraid to take it on,” Komar assured.

The guard said that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he called friends and offered to pick up a machine gun and defend the country. In response, he says, he heard, “This is not my war.”

“And I have the opposite opinion — who, if not us? I want my family, my children to live in an independent country, to have the right to their opinion, to any action,” the guard said.

The guy sees the future of Ukraine after the victory as difficult. He says citizens will need to unite to overcome all challenges and adversities. And after that - there will be development.

“Our economy will definitely rise, I would like our country to be an authority for others. We go to that. We will definitely win,” says “Mosquito”.
