More than 8,000 men, who are subject to conscription by age, have tried to cross the border illegally since the beginning of martial law
Since the beginning of the martial law, border guards have detained for attempting to illegally cross the border more than 8 thousand men, who by age are subject to conscription during mobilization.
More than 5.6 thousand of these violators are stopped by border guards outside checkpoints. The rest tried to pass passport control in illegal ways.
Although an attempt to illegally cross the state border is punishable by administrative procedure, many evaders and their assistants resort to related criminal offenses.
Thus, since the beginning of the full-scale war, 245 futile attempts to bribe border guards have been recorded, during which the border guards were offered bribes totaling more than 3.8 million hryvnias. Recall that bribery of an official is a criminal offense, the responsibility for which is provided for by Article 369 of the Criminal Code.
Also, according to the materials of the operational-search units of the State Border Guard Service, more than 1450 criminal proceedings have been initiated, of which: for the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Art. 332 of the Criminal Code) — more than 270; for forgery of documents and the use of forged documents (Art. 358 of the Criminal Code) — 1160; for evading a summons (Art. 336 KKU) — 17.
Almost 600 people have been declared suspected of committing these crimes and about 200 people have already been criminally prosecuted.
We emphasize that during the period of the legal regime of martial law, the departure outside Ukraine of male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 years is prohibited, with the exception of certain categories of persons.
It should be noted that at the state border, measures aimed at countering illegal activities have been strengthened.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine warns about the inadmissibility of committing acts that violate the law and strict liability.
