Police opened criminal proceedings for destruction of crops by occupiers in Kherson region
As a result of enemy shelling, fields and forests are burning in the Kherson region. Russian troops are purposefully destroying crops. The occupiers specifically do not allow rescuers or locals to extinguish fires. In recent days alone, more than 230 hectares of wheat have burned in Beryslav and Henichesky districts. The fire damaged about 10 hectares of forest near the town of Oleshka.
Russian troops shelled Beryslav district, as a result of which wheat crops on an area of more than 230 hectares near the villages of Fedorovka and Mala Shestyrnya were burned. Almost the entire crop was destroyed.
Due to enemy shelling of the Henichesky district, wheat crops caught fire near the towns of Nyzhni Sirohozy, near the villages of Sokologorne and Rykovo. Nearly 10 hectares of the crop have been burned.
Artillery fire conducted by the Russian army caused fire and damage to 10 hectares of pine forest near the town of Oleshki.
According to all the facts, the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 438 (Violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a period of 8 to 12 years.
