Police of Mykolaiv region signed memorandums of cooperation with 16 territorial communities in the implementation of the project “Community Police Officer”
Today, January 25, the head of the GUNP in the Nikolaev area police colonel Serhiy Shaykhet and the heads of 16 territorial communities of the region signed memorandums of cooperation and partnership. 7 communities of Mykolaiv district, 5 - Bashtansky, 2 - Pervomaisky joined the project and 2 — Voznesensky districts.
The Community Police Officer Project provides for providing each community with a community police officer, where he will work and live. After all, community security is a common goal of the police and territorial communities.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the implementation of the project, in particular the provision of office premises, equipping the necessary equipment and vehicles of future police officers of the communities.
The head of the police of the region noted that in the coming days a competition for the positions of police officers with communities that joined the project will be opened for personnel. And after selection and appropriate training, which each POG will pass, law enforcement officers will begin work on the territory of the communities entrusted to them.
— Security and law order are the common main goal of both the police and communities. Thank you for understanding and supporting the implementation of the security project “Community Police Officer”. Communities that have unplanned participation in the project, and in whose territory the NGOs have been working for some time, proved the effectiveness and usefulness of such an initiative. This is a new format of work of police officers who will constantly be and live in communities, and therefore will feel and understand all the problematic issues themselves and solve them as soon as possible. It is thanks to such cooperation on the ground that we will increase the level of security and law and order in every settlement of the region, — concluded Serhiy Shayhet.
Recall that before the official launch of the project in Mykolaiv region, seven communities have already started cooperation with their own “sheriff” and opened updated police stations.
