The police are making efforts to preserve the lives of children, to ensure normal living conditions and the opportunity to study. On the territory of Donetsk region, due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation, all this is currently impossible, and in some places children do not even have access to food and drinking water.

The police not only evacuates families, but also organizes settlements in safe regions of Ukraine and abroad together with Donetsk OVA. You can get help by calling the hotline 099 423 51 60.

Under constant bombardment, in damp basements, without electricity, gas, water, access to medical care — this is how the children of Donetsk region live now. In the long run — cold winter without heating. Due to the active phase of hostilities, not all schoolchildren will be able to study remotely.

Despite this, some parents have to be persuaded to leave. There are cases when one of them begs for salvation, and the other refuses to evacuate, putting their own children at mortal risk. Thus, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, at least 154 children have died in the region, 198 were injured (exact data from Mariupol and Volnovakha are currently unknown).

Juvenile police officers help to save the child. During the operation, law enforcement officers bypass every home where there are children. The goal is to find out how many children and why remain in Donetsk region, how many have left and who is considering the possibility of evacuation.

First of all, this applies to large families and families who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. In the settlements directly near the line of fire, more than 470 large families remain, in which 1,672 children are raised. Most of them are in Toretsk and Velyka Novosilka. In total, there are now about 52,000 children in Donetsk region.

Police officers explain to parents that evacuation involves providing housing and providing all necessary assistance. In just one week, 131 families, in which 477 children are raised, expressed a desire to evacuate.

Law enforcement officers will evacuate children if at least one parent wants to do so. The categorical refusal of both parents to evacuate will be recorded, and in the event of serious consequences, they will take responsibility for the life of the child.

At the initiative of juvenile police officers in the regional military administration, a hotline has been set up to help in the evacuation of large families with further resettlement in quieter areas of Ukraine, as well as abroad. In the first three days, 62 families contacted the line, 10 of them have already been evacuated.
