Police of Kharkiv region prevented sale of artifacts dating from II century BC
The attacker tried to sell a set of a bronzer for 300 thousand hryvnias. The head of the National Museum of History of Ukraine appealed to law enforcement officers when he found the announcement on the Internet.
A 47-year-old Kharkiv resident on a special website under a pseudonym published an announcement about the sale of a set of bronze foundries, dating from the 2nd century BC, for 300 thousand hryvnias.
At the place of residence of the accused, the police conducted an authorized search, during which cultural values weighing 21 kilograms were found and seized.
The investigators of the Kharkiv District Police Department No. 1 entered the information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 1 of Art. 193 (illegal appropriation by a person of the property found or someone else, which accidentally ended up in it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Substantive evidence is referred to expert research. Police are currently investigating how the artifacts ended up with the attacker. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
