Police opened 41 criminal proceedings on facts of war crimes of the Russian army in Kherson region
The Russian military is shelling Kherson and its suburbs, Belozersk community, the city of Beryslav and settlements in the region around the clock. Kherson suffers the most from daily massive attacks, which Russian troops are shelling with mortars, rocket systems of volley fire and artillery, and damage to the gas pipeline is recorded. Among the dead and injured are children.
The enemy is shelling the sleeping areas of the city in a chaotic manner, trying to cause as much damage as possible to infrastructure and civilians. “Graders” significantly damaged high-rise buildings in several residential areas of Kherson, people died in their own apartments, houses, at public transport stops, in cars, near shops and playgrounds. Unfortunately, there are children among the dead and injured.
Within two days, law enforcement officers opened 41 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes of the Russian army in the Kherson region.
The police received a message from a woman that in early November, her brother and an acquaintance left the village by car “Moskvich” to the city of Beryslav for groceries and did not return home. Relatives themselves tried to find the missing and near one of the villages they found the remains of a car similar to the “Moskvich” with the remains of people's bodies. The police investigate the incident, establish the persons and circumstances of the death of people.
Police from Vysokopillya and Velyka Oleksandrivka village continue to receive reports from local residents about looting and property damage by Russian soldiers during the occupation of settlements. The Russian military stole cars, scooters from the population, removed household appliances from the houses, and also damaged all solar panels.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the death of a resident of one of the villages of the Chornobaev rural community. According to his son, his father disappeared about 8 months ago. Due to the occupation of the settlement, it was not possible to find the man. On November 23, the son discovered the remains of his father's body in a forest strip. According to the applicant, his father helped the Armed Forces. The police are investigating the circumstances of the death of the man.
War crimes of the Russian Federation are documented. The police initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 (Violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
