The police sent to the court an indictment against “Wagner” for participation in a criminal organization
The defendant was recruited by representatives of the private military company “Wagner” during their visit to one of the correctional colonies of the Russian Federation. For participation in a criminal organization, he faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
It was established that the defendant was serving a sentence for theft in one of the correctional colonies of the Russian Federation. In September last year, he joined the criminal organization PVC “Wagner”.
For participation in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, the invader was promised 200 thousand rubles a month. In addition, they signed a contract with him for six months, and after the expiration of this period, they promised exemption from criminal liability.
As part of the criminal organization, the mercenary was in combat areas in the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
It has already been established that the participants of this criminal organization looted the property of Ukrainian enterprises, institutions and organizations, as well as committed attacks on civilians.
At the end of December last year, he was captured by representatives of the security and defense forces of Ukraine. Currently, a member of the Wagner PVC is in a detention center.
Investigators of the department of the organization for the investigation of crimes committed in the conditions of armed conflict, the Civil Service of the National Police collected the evidence base and informed the defendant about the suspicion. At the moment, the indictment against the defendant has already been sent to court.
Operational support in criminal proceedings is carried out by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, procedural leadership - prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
