The police conducted the second stage of the interstate special operation to neutralize the activities of the organized criminal group
For two of its participants, the court has already chosen a non-alternative measure of restraint — detention.
Employees of the Department for the Protection of Public and State Interests together with the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the NPU carry out documentation of illegal activities in the territory of the Odessa region and the south of Ukraine of a criminal organization with transnational connections.
Its participants “specialize” in committing robberies, extortion, forcing civil legal relations, kidnapping people, raiding seizures of private property. Also on the account of the grouping — fraudulent possession of land plots.
The perpetrators had corrupt ties in the authorities, law enforcement and criminal circles of the neighboring country. The victims of their criminal activities were so frightened that they did not turn to law enforcement. The special operation to expose the group took place with the assistance of Europol and colleagues from the Republic of Moldova. The leader, co-organizer and two active participants were informed of suspicion of extortion, kidnapping and falsification of documents.
Therefore, the second stage of a special police operation was held on the territory of the Odessa region to neutralize the criminal activity of the participants of the mentioned criminal group.
Police officers of the Department for the Protection of Public and State Interests, the Main Investigative Department of the National Police, fighters of the special police regiment of the GUNP in the Odessa region, employees of the Bureau of Economic Security were involved in the special operation.
