Police interviewed more than two thousand people who could have been witnesses of the plane crash in Brovary

It is now known that 14 people have died as a result of the tragedy, including one child. This was announced by the spokeswoman of the National Police of Ukraine Mariana Reva today, January 19, during a briefing in Mediacenter Ukraine.

The spokeswoman of the National Police said that 10 people were on board the helicopter: three crew members, Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky, First Deputy Minister Yevhenii Yenin, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovych, Deputy Head of the Patronage Service Shutyak, two bodyguards of the Minister — Mykhailo Pavlushko and Andriy Marinchenko, as well as photographer Mykola Anatsky. Among the crew members are Alexander Vasilenko, Konstantin Kovalenko, Ivan Kasyanov. They all died.

It is also known that 25 people were injured, 11 of them children.

“As of now, there are four children in the burn center in Kiev on inpatient treatment, their condition is stable. Seven children were released home. And in the Brovary Central District Hospital there are four adults on inpatient treatment, their state of health is satisfactory,” said Mariana Reva.

She noted that as soon as the police received the reports — and there were about 70 of them — police uniforms were directed to the scene. Also, rescuers quickly arrived and began to extinguish the fire, which arose as a result of the fall of the helicopter. The leadership of the National Police of Ukraine, representatives of the leadership of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine and other specialized bodies also arrived at the scene.

“An interdepartmental investigation team has been set up to investigate all the circumstances of the incident. Currently, police investigators are involved in this investigation, they are helping with all possible and available means. However, the main investigation is carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine. In total, the police on the spot interviewed and received appeals from more than 300 eyewitnesses of this event. In addition, apartment detours were made. In total, as part of these detours, we interviewed more than two thousand people. All these materials, as well as photos and videos that we received from eyewitnesses of the incident, will be accumulated, analyzed and promptly transferred to the relevant law enforcement agency that conducts the investigation,” Mariana Reva said.

She also noted that 5 investigative and operational teams worked at the scene:

“Forensics, who promptly collected an evidence base that will help the investigation. There were also patrol police officers, juvenile prevention officers, district officers who conducted surveys.”

The spokeswoman of the National Police stressed that all the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are currently working in a coordinated, constructive manner and for a single result.
