Police of Kyiv region reported on suspicion of mother-caregiver of family-type house in beating and bullying of children
The Fastiv Department of the Kyiv Police received a report that in a family-type orphanage, a mother-educator systematically beats up minors and minors under her care.
According to law enforcement officials, a 59-year-old woman commits psychological violence against children and uses physical force to almost everyone.
The children said that they witnessed the mother-educator striking the 13-year-old ward: first with her hands, and then with a metal table leg. The guy was beaten in the head area, but he managed to close his hands. Also, the children noted that the mother systematically punished them, using a belt, an electric cable and other objects.
7 children aged 9 to 15 years were brought up in a family-type house. The children are currently in the hospital, where they are undergoing a medical examination.
On the fact of torture under the procedural leadership of the Fastiv District Prosecutor's Office, the investigators informed the defendant about the suspicion under Part 1 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Torture). The woman faces up to 6 years in prison. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Recall that the campaign “16 days against violence” was launched in Ukraine. Annually it takes place from November 25 to December 10. Its main objective is to draw attention to the problems of overcoming domestic violence, abuse, raising citizens' awareness of forms of violence, algorithms of action for victims, combating trafficking in human beings and protecting the rights of women and men.
In particular, yesterday, November 27, a public discussion “Take a step started in Kyiv. Sensitivity conquers violence” with the participation of First Lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenska.
And on November 26, in the city of Irpin in the Kyiv region, the “Action for Survivors” race was held, timed to the International Action “16 Days of Activism Against Violence”, as a solidarity show of concern for the victims who have survived or are still in a state of violence. It was attended by more than one thousand participants.
