The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs took part in the meeting of the Coordinating Council on the Protection and Safety of Children chaired by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, during which the mechanisms for the return home of forcibly deported Ukrainian children were discussed. This was reported by Ekaterina Pavlichenko on her page in the social network “Facebook”.

The participants of the meeting discussed what has already been done and the steps that still need to be taken to protect the rights of Ukrainian children, their safety in the conditions of martial law. Particular attention is paid to the issue of the return of children forcibly deported by Russia from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

“Forced deportation of children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia is, in fact, the abduction of little Ukrainians and confirmation of the genocide of our people. We need to talk about it at the highest levels. According to the “National Information Bureau”, information on the deportation of more than 10,000 Ukrainian children has been established. Every day this figure is growing”, - emphasized Kateryna Pavlichenko.

According to her, units of the National Police are promptly processing this information. Currently, about 7,000 children illegally exported to the territory of the Russian Federation or ORDLO have been identified by the police alone - and this is the “lion's share” of the identification work. Some of them have already returned to Ukraine or left for the EU. Work on their return continues constantly.

“However, Ukraine needs the support of international partners in finding and creating new platforms in order for thousands of facts of deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia to gain worldwide publicity. In particular, we can count on the help of the UN. We must unite in the fight for children, because they are the future of Ukraine!” - said the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
