Police detained three attackers involved in committing a number of serious crimes in Zaporizhzhia
Two weeks earlier, the convicted men carried out robberies on post offices and gas stations, as well as carried out a car hijacking. The maximum penalty that threatens suspects is up to fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property.
The attackers carried out a series of attacks:
- On March 25, a robbery attack on one of the post offices of Komunar district.
- On April 7, they entered the premises of the gas station. One of them, threatening a gas station worker with an object similar to a gun, seized a metal safe with cash.
- On April 5, a 33-year-old resident of Zaporozhye reported the theft of his car “Opel Astra”, which he left the night before in the courtyard of a high-rise building in Komunarsky district.
Police detained the attackers on April 28 in Komunar district of Zaporizhzhia with the strong support of special officers of KORD and BPOP. They turned out to be three previously convicted men, born in 1990 and 1992.
The Municipal District Court of Zaporizhzhia chose a preventive measure for all suspects in the form of detention without the possibility of posting bail.
The pre-trial investigation continues under the procedural direction of the Shevchenko District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Zaporizhzhia. The involvement of others in criminal activity is currently being investigated.
