Police arrest a fraudster who appropriated more than $3.6 million from a foreign company
The foreigner was wanted for six years by law enforcement agencies of the United Arab Emirates. Criminal Investigation agents of the National Police established the whereabouts and detained the attacker in the capital.
The defendant worked as a sales manager in one of the companies in the United Arab Emirates. A compatriot of the attacker also worked in this company. After agreeing, they developed a criminal plan: forged documents and appropriated more than $3.6 million. THE UNITED STATES. To escape punishment, the 41-year-old man left the country and hid from law enforcement, so the UAE law enforcement agencies declared him an international wanted man.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police established the place of stay and detained the accused. The man was taken to the Shevchenko department of the police of the capital for processing procedural documents. The issue of his temporary arrest with subsequent extradition is being resolved.
Under United Arab Emirates law, the attacker faces up to 10 years in prison.
