Police detained a CCC official and a head of a public organization who helped evade the summons
The head of the department of one of the district territorial recruitment centers in the Cherkasy region received 6,200 US dollars of illegal benefits, and the head of a public organization from Odessa region - 8000 US dollars.
The police took measures to detain persons involved in the functioning of corruption schemes related to the avoidance of conscription. As a result, two defendants were detained.
Thus, the operatives of the department of strategic investigations in the Cherkasy region, together with the investigators of the regional police, detained the head of the department of the territorial center of recruitment and social support of one of the districts. 6,200 USD of illegal benefits was received by the defendant in several stages for resolving the issue with the deferment of the summons. Namely, the recognition of a citizen unfit for service due to health reasons and the issuance of a temporary certificate of a conscript. In the future, this allowed the person to cross the border without hindrance.
On the same day, employees of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Odessa region and investigators of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Odessa region detained the head of the NGO. He also helped citizens avoid being drafted. However, he has already asked for $8000 for his services. For this amount, he was supposed to influence the authorized persons of one of the district TCCs and resolve with them the issue of removal from military registration of a citizen of conscription age for health reasons and production of relevant documents.
Currently, both defendants are detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Both have been informed of the suspicion. The issue of choosing preventive measures is being resolved.
