Police rescue a boy from burning Bakhmut, whose parents were killed by a Russian shell
8-year-old Bohdan was left alone under shelling in an area where there is virtually no access. His family was taken away by the occupiers: his father and mother were killed in the street during an artillery attack. The woman was 7 months pregnant. Law enforcers risked their lives, but took the child away from the fire. Now Bohdan is in a safe place, his relatives are already following him.
The police received information that a child needs emergency evacuation in Bakhmut. The area where the boy lived is under constant blows from the Russians, and the roads to him are destroyed, it is almost impossible to get there. Despite this, a rescue flight was organized. The crew included the head of the department of prevention, paramedics, an employee of the children's affairs service.
Part of the road had to be overcome on foot, leaving an armored car. Police searched for a child sheltered by a neighbor. As it turned out, a few days ago, the parents left their son in the care of an acquaintance and went to his relative's funeral. At that moment, a shell exploded nearby - the couple died from shrapnel wounds.
The bodies lay in the street for several days because the enemy attacks did not stop and it was impossible to retrieve them. Upon learning that his father, mother and unborn brother or sister had died, Bohdan ran away from his neighbor, grabbed his bicycle and went to that place.
Law enforcement officers helped the orphaned child to collect things, took them out of the dangerous area and fed. The boy's mental pain was helped by the constant assistant of the police — Dachshund Rom.
Bogdan's life was saved by joint efforts. He will live in safety, the child will be taken by his aunt.
Donetsk police urge residents of Bakhmut district to evacuate.
