Police exposed military officers of two regions to bribery
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, searches were conducted in the regional military commissariat, which during the martial law acquired property for $350,000. Also, the commander of the TCC in Vinnytsia region organized a scheme to evade the military from mobilization, he was detained while receiving a bribe.
For a year and a half of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the head of the regional TCC managed to arrange for his father several cars and two apartments on the territory of the city of Dnipro. The defendant also registered as a family member (individual entrepreneur) an enterprise that purchased non-residential premises with a total area of about 500 m². However, no income reports were received from the specified entity to the tax authorities.
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Dnipropetrovsk region, together with the investigators of the regional police, conducted urgent searches at the place of work and residence of the head of the regional TCC and his close persons who were involved in criminal activities.
A soldier may face punishment under Part 1 of Art. 368-5 (Illegal enrichment) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the acquisition by a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local government, assets whose value exceeds his legal income, imprisonment from five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years is provided.
Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Eastern Region.
Also, law enforcement officers seized from the commander of the TCC of Vinnytsia region more than 11,000 US dollars, draft records, a mobile phone and a car. For the committed crime, the suspect faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
Investigators of the Investigative Department of the Regional Head of Police under the operational support of the officers of the Strategic Investigations Department under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region documented the illegal activities of the 38-year-old commander of one of the branches of the Vinnytsia Regional Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social of support. Force support was provided by special officers of the KORD.
According to the police chief of the Vinnytsia region Ivan Ishchenko, the official organized a scheme to evade the military from mobilization. The man possessed information about potential recruits, established contact with them and promised to influence the decision making of responsible persons to grant a deferral of conscription.
The intruder was detained at the end of July while receiving $2,000 in illegal benefits from a soldier in Vinnytsia.
During the search, police seized criminally recovered money, $9600 that was in the car, “rough” records with surnames and amounts, a mobile phone and the Skoda vehicle itself.
The offender is informed of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 3 of Art. 369-2 (Abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years with confiscation of property.
The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.
