Police officers exposed Ukrainian company that supplied equipment for nuclear power plants to Russia (VIDEO)
Law enforcers received documents confirming the conduct of joint economic activities with the aggressor country, seized equipment for the construction of nuclear power plants in Bangladesh and India, seized the authorized capital and property of the enterprise for a total amount of about 365 million UAH.
The police found that in the city of Sumy there is one of the largest enterprises in Europe, specializing in the manufacture of pumping equipment for the oil, energy and gas industries, the agro-industrial complex and water management. This enterprise is part of the Russian group of companies GMS Group, the beneficiaries of which are citizens of the Russian Federation.
When investigating the activities of GMS Groups under the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine, investigators found out: in addition to the Ukrainian manufacturing company, it includes production companies in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Germany — they form a single machine-building and engineering holding, which is controlled and operates in interests of Russia.
Thus, during the investigation, it was established that GMS Group enterprises are involved in the construction and repair of nuclear power plants on the territory of Russia, India and Bangladesh, and agreements for their construction are concluded between the governments of these countries and Russia.
In addition, all these nuclear power plants are designed, built and maintained by enterprises that are part of the structure of Rosatom.
Until February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian enterprise supplied its products to Russia through the conclusion of direct agreements with Russian enterprises from the GMS Group group of companies. When supplying products of the Ukrainian manufacturer for the construction of nuclear power plants in India and Bangladesh, the enterprises of the Russian holding acted as intermediaries and received the main profit from the sale of equipment.
After a full-scale invasion, enterprises were unable to fulfill contracts with the Russian Federation and directly supply the products of our manufacturer due to the imposed sanctions.
To circumvent these limitations, interested parties have developed two schemes:
— Ukrainian, Russian and German companies GMS Group agreed to replace the customer — so a German company appeared in the “chain” instead of the Russian one, which is also controlled by a Russian holding. Thus, the German company has already supplied Ukrainian products to Rosatom for the construction of nuclear power plants in India and Bangladesh;
— equipment of the Ukrainian enterprise was supplied to the Russian Federation through intermediary companies in Turkey and Kazakhstan.
So far, investigators have established officials of the enterprise who participated in negotiations with the Russians, received documentary evidence of conducting joint business activities with the Russian Federation, seized equipment prepared for sending for the construction of nuclear power plants in Bangladesh and India, arrested the authorized capital, real estate and capital the property of the enterprise totaling about 365 million hryvnias, which is equivalent to almost ten million US dollars.
The investigators also informed the German law enforcement agencies about these facts and sent the relevant international order to provide information on supplies of Ukrainian products.
Within the scope of the investigation, two heads of the enterprise under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine were informed of the suspicion. The issue of choosing preventive measures for suspects and bringing other employees of the enterprise to justice is resolved. The pre-trial investigation continues.
