The attacker offered people to take away unnecessary things from him for free, which he did not really have, asked for money for delivery and disappeared. In this way, the man searched 25 residents of different regions of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officials found that the man under fictitious names posted ads in public groups on messengers and social networks about the donation of non-existent children's furniture, clothes, trolleys, washing machines, refrigerators, double and two-story beds. People interested in things turned to the “benefactor”. In the correspondence, he assured that he has and is ready to send by mail the things they need, only to pay for the delivery it is necessary to transfer money to a bank card.

Twenty-five citizens from different parts of the country agreed to the conditions of the attacker and transferred money to the account specified by him. In general, the offender received more than twenty thousand hryvnias from people, and stopped contacting them.

Without waiting for the promised things and realizing that they were victims of a fraudster, the victims turned to the police. During the pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings, the police established the identity and location of the offender. He turned out to be a 27-year-old local resident.

“In the presence of sufficient evidence collected by law enforcement officers, investigators under the procedural guidance of the Suvorov District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Odessa informed the defendant about the suspicion under parts 1 and 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the possession of other people's property by deception, that is, fraud committed repeatedly, a man faces a fine of three thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (from 51,000 to 68,000 hryvnias) or correctional work for a period of one to two years, or restriction of liberty for a period of up to five years, or imprisonment for a term of up to three years,” said Yaroslav Klinch, deputy chief of police department No. 2 of the Odessa district police department No. 1.

The investigation is ongoing.
