Police officers exposed the head of the city council and his accomplices in appropriated 400 thousand hryvnias of budget funds
The mayor of one of the settlements of Kharkiv region, the director of the enterprise and his two employees received suspicions. They could face up to 12 years in prison.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations together with the investigators of the Kharkiv region police exposed the “scheme” of seizing the funds of the City Council during the repair work.
The general contractor company carried out the repair of a preschool educational institution in one of the cities of the region. In the course of the work, false data on the cost of used building materials and the volume of work were entered into the reporting documentation. The documents even included works that were actually carried out by municipal enterprises of the city council.
The damage caused by such actions is estimated at almost 400 thousand hryvnias.
The head of the City Council, the director and his subordinates were notified of suspicions under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 5 of Art. 191 (Possession, squandering of property or taking possession of it by abuse of official position)
- part 3 tbsp. 28 h. 1 tbsp. 366 (Service forgery committed by an organized group)
The investigation continues under the procedural leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
