Kidnapping and wrongful imprisonment incriminate investigators with five individuals. For several months, the organized crime group forcibly booked the victims into rehabilitation centers. All this was done under the “guise” of helping people with various kinds of addictions.

During the investigation, it turned out that a resident of Vinnytsia region organized rehabilitation centers for the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction in the territory of three regions. Patient customers were searched through the ads.

Four accomplices helped “treat” people, who at one time also abused drugs and alcohol. However, the relatives of the attackers told that in their centers there are highly qualified doctors who guarantee 100% relief from addictions.

Patients who did not agree to go to the rehabilitation center were forcibly removed. In the institution, people lived in five rooms. There were grilles without handles on the windows, and the doors were always locked. The wards could only go outside under the supervision of employees. They were not allowed to use the phone.

When relatives called the center, the suspects gave them false information and assured that everything was fine, but more time was needed. Their services were estimated from 8 to 20 thousand hryvnias per month.

Having gathered sufficient evidence base, the migrants, together with investigators and fighters of the special police company under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, conducted 10 searches simultaneously in three regions of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers seized vehicles, draft accounting and records with a client base.

All members of the group were declared under Part 3 of Art. 146 (Illegal imprisonment or kidnapping of a person committed by an organized group, or those that caused serious consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and this is imprisonment for a term of five to ten years. The investigation is ongoing.
