Police and rescuers evacuate the population from Donetsk region, the most difficult thing is to convince them to leave — Denis Monastyrsky
On the air of the All-Ukrainian Telemarathon Uatogether, the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky spoke about the evacuation of residents from the frontline settlements of Donetsk region.
“Evacuation from Donetsk region is underway. Hundreds of settlements are being evacuated. Special trains have been organized to take people to safe areas of our state, in order to protect them from shelling, which the occupiers carry out daily,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
Speaking about the work of police and rescuers, the minister explained that today these people perform incredibly difficult and dangerous work. They are forced to take responsibility for the lives of citizens, taking away the occupiers from under the shelling.
“The hardest part of the job is convincing people who are afraid to leave the shelter to leave. This is the biggest challenge for our heroes today. But when people return to safety, it is always tears of joy and gratitude,” Denis Monastyrsky summed up.
The minister urged the population to trust rescuers and police and leave with them as soon as the opportunity arises.
