Police stopped the activities of the group of fraudsters from the SIZO
It has now been established that dozens of victims have been victims. The amount of damage caused to them reaches half a million hryvnias. The activity of fraudsters was stopped by the operatives of the department of strategic investigations in the Chernihiv region and the investigators of the investigative department of the Chernihiv region police.
According to the investigation, three detainees of the detention center and three individuals at large organized the fraudulent scheme. Persons in the detention center posted advertisements on the Internet about the sale of vehicles, military uniforms - tactical clothing, shoes, vests, equipment - and electronics. In order to attract the attention of as many people as possible, they indicated prices that were lower than the market. In addition, we offered services for renting apartments.
To those who were “hooked”, fraudsters reported bank card details of individuals at will. The received funds were withdrawn by the defendants, took their interest and transferred by means of transfers to the dependents of the SIZO.
In the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers have already established the involvement of the defendants in the search for 13 victims in the amount of almost 500 thousand hryvnias. However, according to police, the number of victims is much higher.
