Police reported on suspicion of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky resident in spreading symbols of communist and Nazi totalitarian regimes

In accordance with Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a man is threatened with restriction or imprisonment for a term of up to five years, with or without confiscation of property.

The offender was exposed by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Office of Combating Cybercrimes in the Odessa region of the DKP NPU and investigators of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district police department. Law enforcers found that a 60-year-old citizen on his own page on a Russian social network blocked in Ukraine, in order to bring to a wide range of persons of communist ideology, in his posts distributed publications depicting symbols of communist and Nazi totalitarian regimes, which is confirmed by the findings of the court art historical expertise.

“In the presence of sufficient evidence collected by law enforcement officers during the pre-trial investigation, investigators under the procedural leadership of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky District Prosecutor's Office informed the defendant about the suspicion of spreading symbols of communist, national-socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes. This offense is provided for in Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by restriction of liberty for up to five years or imprisonment for the same term, with or without confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing,” the police commented.
