Police reported suspicion to collaborators who worked in the “patrol service” during the occupation of Kharkiv region
Law enforcers reported the suspicion of an organized group of collaborators. In the period from February 24 to mid-September 2022, the suspects held positions in the “Department of Internal Departments of the Military Administration of Kharkiv Oblast” created by the aggressor state.
As the police found out immediately after seizing the territories of the eastern region, a 40-year-old citizen of Ukraine went to cooperate with the occupiers.
The defendant had a criminal record, but was hired before the occupation illegal formation. He became the commander of the so-called “patrol service of the internal departments of the VGA Kharkiv region”. For the full functioning of the “service”, the collaborator contributed to the appointment of other pro-Russian local residents to positions.
The defendants assisted the aggressor country in the implementation of the invasion policy in the temporarily occupied territories of Kharkiv region. Traitors performed illegal functions, justifying before the local population the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The organized group ceased its criminal activities in September 2022 after the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Four collaborators were informed in absentia of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 28, Part 7 of Art. 111-1 (Collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of twelve to fifteen years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of ten to fifteen years and with or without confiscation of property.
