Police officers of Lviv region referred the case of “Gennichy militiamen” to the court

During the occupation, the former head of the security of a private firm and expatriates, who at different times were dismissed from their posts, headed the so-called “Genicheska detachment of the militia”. Four defendants face up to 15 years in prison.

Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Lviv Oblast, investigators of the Investigative Department of the Regional Police, together with employees of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, collected evidence of citizens' involvement in collaborative activities.

From March to May 2022, the participants, being on the territory of the city. Genichesk, Kherson region, went to cooperate with the occupation authorities and voluntarily occupied the positions of the leadership of the pseudo-law enforcement agency. The accused were engaged in the selection of candidates and employees for the “militia”, protection of the activities carried out by the occupation administration and carried out other “law enforcement functions” on the territory of the city.

On June 21, 2022, the defendants were declared under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 (collaborative activities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On November 29, the indictment against four persons was referred to the Galician District Court of Galicia. Lvov.

For the committed acts, the defendants may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of twelve to fifteen years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of ten to fifteen years and with or without confiscation of property.
