Police of Kyiv region investigate attack on law enforcement officers in Rokytne
During a patrol in the village of Rokitnoe on December 24, at about 23:20 hours, near a gas station, employees of the patrol police response department at curfew stopped an Audi car, the driver of which was with obvious signs of alcohol intoxication.
In the process of documenting the driver, a Mitsubishi car driven by a 65-year-old local government representative pulled up to the scene, who got out of the car and began to accuse police officers without reason.
Subsequently, the deputy provoked a conflict situation, behaved aggressively towards the security forces, whose legal requirements he disobeyed, tore off a chest body camera and damaged it, at the same time threatening police with physical violence. When the arrest was attempted, the deputy resisted and fled the scene.
Investigators on the fact of threats or violence against a law enforcement officer have opened a pre-trial investigation (Part 1 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of correctional labor for up to 2 years or arrest for up to 6 months, or restriction of liberty for up to 3 years, or imprisonment for the same period.
