Police and volunteers evacuated a family from Bakhmut under the sight of an enemy drone
The father and daughter were taken by law enforcement officers from the street along which the front line runs. The man was injured and needed medical attention. The distance to the evacuation car was overcome by running, because Russian UAVs appeared overhead and shelling of the residential sector began.
In recent days, the enemy continuously attacks Bakhmut. People remain in the city, and quite often the police and volunteers, risking their lives, under shells get local residents out of dark basements.
“Guys, there, so you understand, there are already Russians,” says one of the members of the rescue crew and points with his hand to the proximity of the dangerous direction. However, this does not stop people in armored cars, police and international volunteers who
came to rescue residents. In the basement of one of the private sector houses, law enforcement officers found a man and a girl. The father said that his daughter is already an adult, and he himself was injured earlier. Why were they delayed leaving? How do they live in inhuman conditions without light and heat? There was no time for all these questions. Short persuasions, weighty arguments, quick collection of documents and basic things, and here, the family is ready to get in the car. However, the appearance of an enemy drone and the explosions, which almost did not stop, were in the way.
Thanks to the quick coordinated actions of the police and volunteers, the father, daughter, other residents of the dangerous area and even the dog were saved. All of them were taken to Pokrovskaya hromada, and then - by evacuation train to safe regions.
The police chief of Bakhmut was asked by volunteers to help evacuate the family. The family lives in the private sector directly near the line of battle. The evacuation was successful, no one was injured.
There are 500,538 people in the region, but there are no completely safe places now in the Donetsk region. So the police are urging local residents to evacuate in time.
