In the spring, due to constant shelling, a family with children was forced to leave their home, but due to certain family circumstances they returned to the frontline city. Law enforcement learned of the family's return, talked to the parents and convinced them to evacuate to a safe place as soon as possible. With the help of caring citizens, the police were taken out of the danger zone and found free housing.

Svetlana with her husband and five children from 9 to 15 years old is from Gulyaypol. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, this settlement has suffered from shelling both day and night. “There are streets where there is not a single surviving building left. Dozens more are partially destroyed - in most houses it is impossible to live, there is no light, water, gas. Unconquered, but not occupied, - this is how the mother of a large family tells about her hometown. - Someone endures those explosions, constant excitement, and someone does not. I cannot constantly fear, hide and fear for the lives of children. The war forced us to flee our homes and leave all our possessions behind.”

For some time they lived in the neighboring area. The other day, due to family circumstances, they had to return home. Adults immediately realized the fallacy of their decision. Unfortunately, the situation in the frontline city has only worsened. The enemy is increasingly shelling Gulyaypole with various types of weapons, uses RSVP, artillery, drones and aviation.

Oleksandr Gordienko, the head of the police department №1 of Pologovsk RVP, notes: “We constantly convince local residents to leave the shelling, we pay special attention to families with children. As soon as we learned about the return of a large family, we immediately had a conversation with the parents about the need for evacuation and quickly found alternative housing a little further from the contact line. On July 20, the operatives together with the police officer of the Gulyaypilsk territorial community with the help of a local entrepreneur who provided transport for transportation furniture, arranged for the family to move to a safe place.”

All members of the large family rejoiced at the prospect of returning to a quiet life. Children and adults took an active part in collecting and loading the necessary things. The forced migrants did not abandon their animals for good, they took with them kittens, a dog and even two children. For now, the family is settling in a new place, but hope to return home after the Victory.

Evacuation from frontline settlements of Zaporizhzhya region continues. Citizens can always count on the support and assistance of police officers.
