Donetsk Police Detect Organized Crime Group That Profited From Gambling Business During War (VIDEO)
The attackers organized two clandestine casinos in the frontline cities: one of the establishments was liquidated by the police even before it was opened. More than 2 million hryvnias were withdrawn from the balance sheets of online casinos and group members.
It was established that the group consists of 4 people: the organizer, two administrators of the gambling establishment and an accountant. The leader is a previously unconvicted 40-year-old resident of Mirnograd. The man carried out recruitment, collected criminally obtained funds and distributed them among the members of the group.
The first gambling hall functioned in the city of Selydove, another underground casino was prepared by intruders for opening in Pokrovsk.
Removed 16 monitors, 17 system units, router, bank cards, mobile terminals and SIM cards, 9 flash drives, memory cards and draft records.
Pre-trial investigation is conducted under Part 2 of Art. 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal activities for the organization or conduct of gambling).
