Police of Donetsk region inform about the safety of children during the emergency
Law enforcement officers take all necessary measures to strengthen security and information work among the population and provide an algorithm of actions to children and staff of educational institutions in the event of a threat of terrorist or sabotage acts.
Tips for students:
- keep calm;
- follow the instructions of the employees of the educational institution;
- if necessary, help block doors and windows with furniture;
- in case of sudden shelling and absence of storage facilities - lie on the ground (floor) away from the window, cover your head with your hands or things. Open your mouth a little - this will save you from a contusion when the projectile breaks close.
In no case should you:
- get closer to the windows if you hear shots;
- observe the course of hostilities, stand or run under fire;
- argue with armed people, photograph and record in their presence;
- to select or display weapons or objects similar to it;
- wear army uniform or camouflage clothing ― it is better to wear clothes of dark colors that do not attract attention, and avoid any symbols.
Possible hiding places in case of shelling:
- specially equipped bomb shelters;
- basement, remote room without windows, load-bearing wall;
- underground passages, metro;
- any ditch, trench or pit;
- wide gutter pipe (maximum 3-4 meters);
- along a wide curb or fence - a very large basement under the capital houses of the old building;
- inspection pit of an open garage or service station;
- if there is no shelter in sight, where you can run with a quick throw - just lie on the ground and lie down, covering your head with your hands.
The sequence of actions if necessary to evacuate children and staff from the school building:
- the deputy in charge of civil protection presses the alarm button and the corresponding signal sounds. After that, he takes the necessary folders with class lists, leaves the room and prepares a place where employees will be evacuated to students;
- technicians, having heard the alarm, open the exits for which they are responsible. Teachers tell children to leave all things in their places, and in the cold season to grab outerwear and shoes and line up for an organized exit. After checking that there is no one left in the classroom and necessarily taking the journal, the teacher takes the children to a safe place where they are met by the responsible deputies. Here they check the number of children with evacuation lists and a class journal, where the missing are noted, and ask about the need to help someone;
- the task of the deputies for labor protection and life safety is to check that all employees of the institution are also evacuated, and then ask about their condition;
- the principal leaves the school premises last when there is no one left. The deputies each report to him about his field;
- in the case when you need to evacuate not outside the building, but to the shelter (another signal will notify about this), then the procedure is almost the same, except that the children are transferred to the basement.
After the end of the shelling:
- look closely under your feet;
- Do not lift any explosive objects from the ground!
Combat elements often break when falling, but can explode later, in the hands - from the slightest movement or touch. Attention adults — children and adolescents: do not let them lift anything from under their feet!
