Threatened with murder and torture: the police proved the involvement of 9 Russian servicemen in committing war crimes

According to the head of the GUNP in the Kiev region Andrei Nebitov, in March 2022, the occupiers held a resident of the Buchansky district hostage. The man was tortured, his hands were tied with plastic clamps, his eyes were glued with tape. In order to obtain information about the deployment of the troops of the Armed Forces, a civilian citizen was beaten with fists and examples from a machine gun.

The investigation established that these were 9 servicemen of 64 separate motorized rifle brigade of the ground troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as part of 35 general military army.

For violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) the court sentenced one offender to 12 years in prison, four to 11 years and 6 months, the rest to 11 years in prison.

All of them are currently wanted.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Kiev region police, operational support by the National Police of Ukraine under the procedural leadership of the Buchanska District Prosecutor's Office.
