Today, February 12, units of the National Police, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine conducted tactical and special exercises in the territory of certain settlements of the Kherson region, near the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The trainings are conducted to maximally prepare the central executive bodies of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for timely and effective response to destabilizing factors that may arise in the country.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that 1300 law enforcement officers were involved in the tactical and special exercises of the forces and means of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Such training takes place in all border areas of our state.

“We understand that “surprises” can come at any time. We have to count on our strength. We understand that such things can happen without warning. The most important thing is that we are ready for everything. And it is this readiness that is worked out in training. We are ready for any steps from any side, from any borders. I think that our specialists, our teams, the military, the Ministries are at a very serious level. And it is this level that they demonstrated today,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.

Maneuvers are conducted in critical proximity to the conditional border with the occupied territories. The main tasks of the units are to stabilize the situation on the border, stop mass unrest, deblock seized critical infrastructure facilities and administrative buildings, and release hostages.

According to the “legend” of the exercises, with the help of media and social networks, which are broadcast in the temporarily occupied territories and certain areas of mainland Ukraine, an information-psychological operation takes place. Among the population of border cities, information is disseminated about the difficult situation that has arisen in the energy sector. As a result, there are mass riots, attempts to blow up dams on the North Crimean Canal in order to restore water supply to the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, seizure of administrative buildings.

Responding to conditional threats, the units worked out:

- deployment of the operational headquarters to eliminate the emergency situation associated with the shutdown of the settlement from the electricity supply;

- conducting a special operation to stabilize the operational situation on the conditional border with the temporarily occupied territories;

- liquidation of mass riots with the detention of armed intruders and the liberation of captured administrative buildings;

- opposition to illegal crossing of border checkpoints for organizing mass protests and bringing their participants from outside;

- detection, blocking and elimination of armed groups and DRG;

- restoration of normal functioning of the infrastructure of the settlement.

For reference:

The exercises involved more than a thousand employees of the National Police, servicemen of the National Guard and the State Border Service, rescuers of the State Emergency Service and cadets of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs. In addition, special equipment is used, in particular the helicopter group MI-8 and H-145. Maneuvers are held in two settlements Kalanchak and Novooleksiyivka.
