“We were hit with 203 caliber”, — a fighter of the “Donbass” battalion of the NGU told about the fighting in the Kreminsk forests
A fighter of the special purpose battalion “Donbass” of the 15th Slavic Regiment shared observations made during the fighting near Kreminna. His nickname is Son, and he is an experienced warrior who has risked his life more than once.
A full-scale war broke into the life of the Odessa resident Sonochko when he was 19 years old. Without hesitation, he went to the nearest military unit and was summoned.
“My story began in Odessa. Came to the nearest part. Then we were based near Snake Island, where there was fighting. Then we were sent to Odessa airport. There were also shelling and bombing,” Sinochok recalls.
He adds that soon the enemy realized that Odessa was not in his teeth. The situation began to stabilize. After some time, the understanding came: it's time to go east, because it is there that the latest history of his state is being created. Actually, this is how he got into the battalion “Donbass”. Today he is in the position of gunner of the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun. However, it has a somewhat wider potential.
“I performed tasks in the Kreminsk forest as an anti-drone officer and protected my comrades from reconnaissance and strike UAVs, as well as “dumps”, - says the guard. The worst impression he had left after the fighting last April. At that time, enemy tanks and SAU worked a lot on them. - We were hit with 203 calibers. I had to step back a bit that day, and if we hadn't done that, I wouldn't be here anymore. You have to do everything in a team, otherwise you will not be able to cope alone.”
The guard always acutely felt the injustice of the encroachments of Russians on Ukrainian lands. He notes that he will never forgive them thousands of murdered Ukrainians, especially children. He had to go through a lot, but he remains confident that Ukraine will defeat the aggressor state.
