One-and-a-half-year-old four-legged border guard Casey detects even the smallest batches of contraband
One and a half year old Casey personifies all the most characteristic features of the Belgian Shepherd Dog. Insane energy, almost round-the-clock activity, incredible endurance and sometimes excessive playfulness - all this is about the four-legged beauty, who has been guarding the western borders of our state for almost two months.
She recently completed a training course at the Kennel Training Center and is currently serving at international railway checkpoints in Transcarpathia.
The owner of the sheepdog, border guard Dmitry, says: “Casey is one hundred percent choleric. Most of all, she loves to run, jump and play. Such preferences, together with irrepressible energy, we use for search work. For the dog, it is a game and a search for a toy, and for us - the security of the state border. I can say with confidence that Casey and I have a complete understanding. In short, we worked hard and we both get pleasure from the work.”
Casey specializes in finding tobacco. For her, freight and passenger trains are not a challenge, but rather entertainment. By running around and inspecting long-haul wagons, she easily finds the smallest batches of contraband tobacco. As a reward for this, he will certainly receive his favorite ball and treat.
