Went for mushrooms and did not return: 68-year-old man is being sought in Ternopil region
The man went to the forest for mushrooms on November 9 in the evening, but still nothing is known about his location. The missing person is a resident of the village of Zalistsi, Kremenets district.
At the moment, rescuers, dog handlers with service dogs are involved in the search. Monitoring is also carried out using UAVs.
As you know, the mushroom season continues in Ukraine. So, when going on a forest trip, take care of your safety.
It is recommended to go for mushrooms early in the morning. The optimal time for harvesting mushrooms is 6-7 hours in the morning.
Before you go on a quiet hunt, take care of the full charge of your mobile phone and be sure to notify relatives or acquaintances where you are going and when you plan to return.
Collect only well-known mushrooms. At the slightest doubt, the mushroom should be thrown away. Do not pick mushrooms that are too young or old — they are easy to confuse with poisonous ones. In no case do not taste raw mushrooms!
Even edible mushrooms can be dangerous if they grow in a contaminated area, because they absorb toxic substances.
At the first symptoms of poisoning (nausea, stomach pain), you should immediately consult a doctor. Mushrooms can cause severe food poisoning in humans, as they contain toxic compounds.
But it is worth remembering that a significant part of the territory of Ukraine remains mined. In areas that were under occupation or where fighting took place, it is forbidden to visit forests.
Thus, according to the decisions of the regional military administrations, the ban on visiting forests applies to 14 regions, namely: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kiev, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Chernihiv.
In the event that you notice a suspicious object, you must immediately move to a safe distance in the same way as you approached the object. You can mark this place with a bright object, ribbon, rag. So it will be easier for sappers to find this area.
After you have marked the place and gone to a safe distance in the same way, you need to call rescuers at the number “101”.
