Underwater drone, demining systems and genetic analyzer: the Ministry of Internal Affairs received technical assistance from Germany

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the National Police received a package of technical assistance from the Federal Office of the Criminal Police of Germany. Special equipment was transferred to the units of the Explosive Service of the NPU and the State Research Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Teteria, Chairman of the NPU Ivan Vyhivsky, Temporary Prosecutor for Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine Tim Prange, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the NPU took part in the transfer of aid ceremony.

Police explosives technicians received an underwater drone, 10 explosive suits with a set of equipment, 20 portable lighting systems, metal detectors, body armor with ballistic protection and a combined system for demining territories. The State Research Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received from partners three automatic DNA isolation stations, a genetic analyzer, thermostats, a freezer, six centrifuges and additional devices.

Vasily Teteria thanked the government and citizens of Germany for their support in confronting the aggressor country and the technical assistance provided.

“These are powerful laboratories that have been put to use by the DNDEKC and modern state-of-the-art equipment for the National Police. We thank you for your work in the direction of supporting Ukraine and, in particular, the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This path will definitely lead to a joint victory,” the Deputy Minister stressed.

In his turn, Tim Prange stressed: “Your work in peacetime is very important, and war presents additional challenges. You are not alone in this struggle. Next to you are many partners and Germany as well. Support is important not only at the political level, but also in practice. I am grateful to the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and the German Criminal Police Department for the practical support of the work of Ukrainian colleagues.”

According to the head of the National Police Ivan Vyhivsky, at the beginning of the Russian armed aggression on the territory of Ukraine, police explosives surveyed more than 33 thousand hectares of territory and seized more than 280 thousand ammunition and more than 9 tons of explosives.

“We have felt the support of the German government and citizens since the beginning of the war. During these years, equipment for explosives machines worth more than 14 million euros has been transferred to us. The very first is about the safety of our police explosives. The help you provide is important precisely in preserving the life and health of law enforcement officers,” Ivan Vyhivsky emphasized.
