Between 50 and more than 100 shelling occurs daily in border areas
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Oleksiy Sergeev on the air of the All-Ukrainian TV Marathon “United News”.
“The situation on the border with the enemy and partly with the Republic of Belarus remains difficult. Units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine serve on the border under artillery and mortar shelling. Every day there are from 50 to more than 100 shelling,” Alexey Sergeyev said.
He also added that at the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces, in particular border guards, national guards and police ensure proper security in the border areas. First of all, measures are taken to prevent the penetration of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy.
“I want to note that the Defense Forces and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system in these border areas are sufficient to repel any attempts to break through our border,” the Deputy Minister said.
In addition, the activities of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are aimed at providing assistance to our citizens. This is not only carrying out emergency rescue and emergency works to eliminate the consequences of shelling. This includes law enforcement activities, providing humanitarian assistance and providing psychological support to citizens.
