Representatives of the technical assistance department to law enforcement agencies of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine handed over cars and equipment for high-precision shooting to the Kordivs. The transferred equipment and equipment will allow special agents to perform their professional duties related to the detection of crimes, counteract crime, protect the peace and security of citizens.

The event took place on February 11. The transfer of vehicles based on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and equipment for high-precision shooting took place within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Support for the sustainable development of special purpose units “KORD” of the National Police of Ukraine”. The event was attended by First Deputy Head of the National Police Mikhail Kuznetsov and Senior Advisor on Law Enforcement Reform of the Law Enforcement Division of the US Embassy in Ukraine Frank Herbert.

First Deputy Head of the National Police Mikhail Kuznetsov noted that the received transport and equipment will improve the technical capabilities of KORD units. Therefore, it will contribute to the fulfillment by special agents of tasks within the framework of anti-terrorist activities and neutralization of criminal elements, in particular — criminal groups, “thieves in law”, the fight against drug crime, etc.

“We were given optical sights, ballistic calculators and specialized vehicles that will be used to fight crime, and tactical night vision devices,” Mikhail Kuznetsov said, expressing gratitude to American partners for fruitful cooperation and constant support of the National Police of Ukraine.

According to Frank Herbert, Senior Adviser on Law Enforcement Reform at the US Embassy in Ukraine, support for the project has been ongoing since 2015.

“We are pleased to support the special unit “CORD”, which carries out the toughest, most complex police operations in Ukraine to protect the people of Ukraine and to ensure public order,” said Frank Herbert.

During the event, its participants discussed further cooperation in the format of conducting trainings for Ukrainian police officers. Such training will help increase the level of readiness of special agents to perform official duties.
