Units of the National Police of Ukraine seized more than 2.4 tons of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in 2023
Combating drug crime is one of the priorities of the National Police of Ukraine.
The main results of the work in 2023 were:
- opening of 31,890 criminal proceedings;
- 15,330 suspects were announced;
- more than 2.4 tons of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were seized;
- the property of drug traffickers was seized for almost UAH 60 million;
Recall that the fight against the proliferation of drugs is one of the serious challenges.
“In any country that has social and economic problems, drug addiction is one of the first places. We understand this, so together with our partners we have updated the unit of the Department of Drug Enforcement. His attention is primarily focused on large criminal organizations that directly affect the production and distribution of narcotic substances, and we conduct them, starting from the border,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko said in an interview with the Rada TV channel in the all-Ukrainian television marathon “United News”.
