Underground industrial line with full cycle of cigarette production exposed in Odessa region
The illegal line and finished products worth millions of hryvnias were seized by a joint interdepartmental group of law enforcement officers in the city of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky.
The clandestine shops for the production of tobacco products were discovered in the city of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky during searches conducted by the operatives of the Chernivtsi Border Detachment together with SBU officers and BEB detectives. Force support for investigative actions was provided by border guards of the DOZOR operational response unit.
In addition to the industrial line, on which a full cycle for the production of cigarettes without a filter was established, raw materials and ready-to-ship products were also withdrawn.
In particular, more than 2 tons of tobacco, more than 400 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamps, as well as a large amount of cigarette paper and other auxiliary equipment were found in the utility rooms.
As part of the pre-trial investigation carried out by the detectives of the BEB, 4 citizens of Ukraine were detained. Detainees who served an illegal enterprise are planned to declare a suspicion of having committed a crime provided for in Part 3 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of selling excisable goods”.
