Arson of an architectural monument in the Podolsk district of the capital: the police opened criminal proceedings and establishes those involved in the crime
The fire in the two-story building was eliminated by the employees of the State Emergency Service. No one was injured as a result of the incident. Investigators qualified the incident as intentional destruction of property committed by arson.
The Kiev police received a report about the burning of a non-residential two-story building on Voloska Street. Emergency rescue workers and the investigative and operational team of the Podolsk Police Department arrived at the scene, which documented the crime.
The fire was eliminated within an hour by the employees of the State Emergency Service. No one was injured as a result of the incident. The police conducted an inspection of the scene, which was recorded in the procedural documents. It is known that the house in which the burning took place is a monument of architecture and urban planning of local importance.
According to this fact, the investigator of the Podolsk police department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional destruction or damage to property, committed by arson or causing property damage on a particularly large scale. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment from three to ten years.
Also, within the framework of criminal proceedings, relevant expert studies are appointed and measures are carried out to identify persons involved in this crime.
