Today, first-year cadets of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs took the Oath of Worker of the National Police. More than 360 boys and girls swore allegiance to the Ukrainian people.

The cadets took an oath with dignity to bear the rank of police officer and to perform their duties conscientiously, to observe the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, to respect and protect human rights and freedoms.

On the eve of taking the Oath, special police badges and service IDs were solemnly presented to freshmen.

The leadership of the university, first-year cadets and guests of the holiday performed the National Anthem of Ukraine. After that, those present honored with a minute of silence the memory of the defenders who died defending their native land from the enemy.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Akopian congratulated the freshmen on taking the Oath. She stressed that choosing the profession of a law enforcement officer is a very responsible and bold step, because to be a Ukrainian police officer means to be a model of resilience, professionalism, humanity and invulnerability.

“I welcome you to a great police family. I believe that you will learn conscientiously and will be ready at any time to serve, protect Ukraine and our society. I am sure that it is your generation that will become law enforcement officers who will rebuild our state, create a new “security architecture” in Europe,” the Deputy Minister stressed.

By order of the Minister of Internal Affairs Mary Akopian solemnly presented the honors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to university employees, police officers, national guards, border guards, rescuers, representatives of the State Migration Service and the Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Lviv region.

Roman Blaguta, the rector of Lviv University of Applied Sciences, also addressed the freshmen with a welcoming speech. “Each of you has an interesting and rich training program with the most modern Ukrainian practices. Remember that now you have a unique opportunity to communicate with experienced mentors who will help you master the subtleties of your chosen profession,” the head of the university noted.

First Deputy Chairman of Lviv Regional Military Administration Andriy Godyk, congratulating the cadets, noted: “You are the hope and support not only of Lviv region, but also of the whole state.”

Freshmen and Deputy Chairman of Lviv Regional Council Yuriy Kholod congratulated the freshmen. “I am sure that you have made the right choice for the future of our country. Never hesitate about which step to take next. Stand in defense of our independent, sovereign state.”

Archpriest Ivan Revutskyi was blessed by the rector of the Chapel of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs for the easy and happy service of the cadets.

The celebrations ended with a musical greeting and a joint photo in memory of this event.
