Escapist smuggler sentenced to 5 years in prison
A Moldovan citizen will spend 5 years in prison for illegally transporting men across the border. He received a court sentence for trying to illegally transfer five Ukrainians across the state border.
On January 24, the border guards of the Mogilev-Podolsk detachment detained a 39-year-old foreigner on the banks of the Dniester. A man on an inflatable boat illegally crossed the state border from Moldova to Ukraine. On the Ukrainian bank of the river, men were waiting for him - citizens of Ukraine, whom the young man planned to transport by boat to Moldova.
The investigation established that the attacker, realizing the illegality of his actions, intended to illegally transfer military persons across the state border of Ukraine to Moldova for monetary reward.
Recently, the Mogilev-Podolsk City District Court of the Vinnytsia region found a citizen of Moldova guilty of committing the crime provided for in Part 3 of Art. 332 “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and imposed a penalty in the form of imprisonment for a term of five years with confiscation of property.
