“Victory is for us, because our strength is in unity”, - police officer of the assault brigade “Fury” Vasily Kishkan
Among those who want to join the assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Fury” are people with and without military experience. Vasyl Kishkan, 30, who has 24 rotations in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, was also unable to stay aside.
The man says that he took up arms back in 2014, when Russia began an undeclared war. Then he was only 21 years old. At that time, he learned about the creation of a volunteer battalion of the patrol service of the then special purpose militia “Ternopil” and joined it as one of the first to defend his country.
Vasily was repeatedly in the zone of the anti-terrorist operation and the zone of the Joint Forces Operation. At that time, law enforcement officers served in the Luhansk region, and were stationed in Lisichansk and Severodonetsk. Police officers provided public security, worked to identify sabotage and intelligence groups, and also served at checkpoints.
Having not only combat experience, but also the experience of a paramedic, a man knows how to act correctly in dangerous situations, while saving lives. He knows beyond words what awaits him in the assault brigade “Fury”.
In 2019, Vasily left the police service. And already now he learned about recruiting for the police assault brigade “Fury” from his brothers, who, like him, showed a desire to change their rage to weapons and joined the ranks of the assault formation.
According to Vasily Kishkan, selection to the special forces is not easy, because there it is necessary to show your perseverance, character, moral endurance, physical training and, of course, psychological resilience.
- This is a terrible war, the enemy has openly invaded our native land, so I am aware of the risks I am taking. My opinion is that it is we who should defend the land, protect the civilian population, relatives and loved ones, - the policeman is sure.
Vasyl is convinced that standing side by side, Ukrainians will be able to lead the country to victory, because in unity - strength.
