Fraudster who deceived victims of almost 14 million hryvnias will appear before the court
Investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region sent to the court an indictment in the criminal proceedings initiated against a 33-year-old resident of the regional center.
Thus, during the pre-trial investigation it was found that the perpetrator, who had already been tried for similar crimes, having entered into trust with two victims, cheated in one of 11 million 300 thousand hryvnias, and in the other - almost 3 million hryvnias.
The scheme of deception consisted in the fact that the attacker, pretending to be a successful businessman, offered to buy smartphones, medical equipment and other equipment at a bargain price.
The suspect initially really transferred the goods to the selected victims at a price lower than the market, thus, taking money for larger and larger batches of the order, and then with huge sums simply disappeared.
The police searched for the attacker. During the pre-trial investigation, the operative support of which was carried out by the officers of the anti-cybercrime department, the suspect was chosen as a precautionary measure — detention. The punishment will be determined by the court.
Currently, the Ternopolians face from three to eight years in prison.
