Snipers of one of the units of the 50th Regiment named after Colonel Semen Vysochan of the National Guard of Ukraine are constantly developing their skills. During the exercises, fighters focus on perfecting the art of terrain orientation, determining precise distances to targets, and moving and disguising effectively.

Training participants are carefully and systematically prepared for challenges. The requirements for candidates include not only high shooting accuracy and strong endurance, but also skills in recognizing all the details in the field.

Snipers systematically study the technique of determining distances to targets using optical and improvised means, raising the bar for the effectiveness of their activities. According to the guards, sniper training is not a game for the weak.

“Here every day can be your last if you do not study to the fullest. We have to practice shooting at different distances, in different conditions — wind, rain, snow. All the training we undergo will help us complete the tasks and survive, because every movement, every improved skill can decide your fate,” says one of the fighters.

A decisive aspect of the sniper's success is his invisibility on the battlefield. To this end, the guards use “kikimori” camouflage costumes, which are very effective in the art of disguise.

According to the instructors, only those who successfully passed the difficult selection and eventually improved their skills deserve to be a sniper.
