Organized an escape channel for evaders: police detained pastor in Bukovina
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Chernivtsi Oblast and investigators of the Investigative Directorate of the Regional Police blocked another illegal migration channel.
It was organized by the pastor of one of the Protestant churches. He offered evaders to get to Moldova bypassing official checkpoints for $3,500. Gathered those wishing to leave in a settlement near the border and accompanied them to the crossing point.
Law enforcement officers detained the defendant precisely while receiving the so-called “reward” in the amount of 3500 US dollars. He was informed of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of house arrest was chosen.
